THE JOB

Field Service Technician-service Biogas upgrading facilities located in North York, Ontario and clients’ compressed air systems as well. He will perform a start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, PLC, mechanical and pneumatic systems. They are supported by a combination of manufacturer’s services, in-house technical resources, and an inventory of parts and specialized tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation & start-ups of Air Compressors, Compressed Air Equipment and turnkey Air Compressor Systems and retrofits.
  • Troubleshoot, service and repair rotary equipment for Biogas, Renewable natural gas and Compressed Air Equipment and/or refer any outstanding issues for further partner and technical support. Type of rotary equipment is listed below:
    • Centrifugal Blowers.
    • Dry claw vacuum pump
    • Fan extractors
    • Oil flooded screw compressor
    • Reciprocating compressor
    • Air blower
    • Metering pumps, peristaltic pumps, and centrifugal pumps
    • Air compressors and air dryers
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on the equipment.
  • Report and discuss status of the equipment with the onsite representative.
  • Thoroughly document and record work performed on all equipment as per the required procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and customer feedback.
  • Work with other skilled trades on the maintenance and installation of the equipment as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable:

  • 6 – 8 years of experience maintaining/servicing rotary equipment. Less years of experience (up to 3+) might be accepted if it is judged as pertinent.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • Owns required tools (basic toolset).
  • Extensive knowledge of rotary equipment, air dryers, and Compressed Air System related products.
  • Ability to interpret and follow equipment related diagrams & schematics.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Occasional on-call/after-hours service duties.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision and direction.
  • Understand and support company-wide and provincial health & safety procedures.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and can determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete a job safely and efficiently.
  • Adaptable, committed, and accountable.
  • Eager to learn and to gain new set skills.

 

TRAVEL

  • Frequent daily travel might be required, from time to time.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to stand for periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to squat, bend or stoop.
  • Must be able to push, pull and overhead reach.
